Abstract Titanium and its alloys show outstanding application prospects in many industrial fields due to their high specific strength, good corrosion resistance, temperature etc. However, at present the failure of Ti is attracted great attention with gradual increasing applications. The different localized forms are introduced this review, including galvanic corrosion, crevice pitting hydrogen-induced cracking, stress crack, microbiological fatigue, wear. Among them, caused by crack cracking most serious, accounting for about 40–60% actual accidents. effects temperature, pressure, corrosive media microstructure on titanium discussed. Particularly noteworthy, F − extremely aggressive passive film alloys. behavior applied aerospace, marine, petrochemical industries biomedical environments introduced. In above environments, easily damaged difficult oxygen-deficient environments. current controversies mechanism have also been proposed, especially that has serious impact alloys, will be focus future research.
